151-Main Street Interchange To Open November 14th (City of Sun Prairie Engineering Department)
151-Main Street Interchange To Open November 14th - Final Update
Here is the final project update on the 151-Main Street Interchange project:
With weather conditions over the past couple days slowing the work onsite and efforts that are still needed to get the signals into operation, the project team is planning to have the signals ready to operate on Monday November 14th in conjunction with opening the roadway. This should allow time to finish the cabinet wiring, signs, pavement marking and other miscellaneous items on the site.
Blogger's Note: And there was much rejoicing!

151 Main Street Project Update Week of October 3rd, 2011 (City of Sun Prairie Engineering Department)
Concrete work on both DOT and City projects which include hanging curb & gutter, paving concrete gaps, and median work.
Asphalt paving on ramps and O'Keeffe Ave. is planned for later in the week, which may result in switching traffic onto the east side of O'Keeffe Ave. This would allow for work on the west side of O'Keeffe such as storm sewer, water main, curb and gutter, etc.
Main Street traffic should remain the same all week.
Note that there are no turns onto Main Street from O'Keeffe Ave.
Truck Traffic Advisory:
It is currently very difficult for large trucks to make a left turn onto Main Street from the SB 151 ramp. These trucks may want to either 1) turn right and go around the Round-a-bout to go east bound on Main Street, or 2) they could go up to the 151-CTH C - Reiner Rd interchange and turn around to head NB on 151and exit on to Main Street. This right turn is much easier for large trucks.
Persons travelling this route are advised that construction is likely to be occurring on Saturdays for the next several weeks. People are also strongly encouraged to continue to slow down and watch for construction workers and equipment at all times in the construction zone. In addition, vehicles traveling westbound on W. Main Street. and wanting to access businesses along O'Keeffe Avenue must turn at the Clarmar Drive intersection. Access to O'Keeffe Avenue for westbound vehicles does not exist west of Clarmar Drive.
The next business meeting is scheduled for October 6th at 9:00 a.m.
