Construction is likely to begin on the U.S. 151-Main St. interchange next week. The contractor is waiting for final approvals and the go ahead from WisDOT. Drivers will notice that traffic control devices (i.e. barrels, barricades and signage) have already begun to be placed in the shoulder and medians. The first stage will include placing traffic controls where needed to allow for the construction of a lane crossover section near Thompson Road.
Weekly construction meetings will begin next Thursday June 16th at 9:00 a.m. at the project field office at 1632 W. Main St.
Questions or concerns during the project can be addressed to City Engineering staff at (608) 215-1167.
Persons or businesses interested in being on the project e-mail update list should send their e-mail address and optional phone number to mainstreet@cityofsunprairie.com or can call Economic Development Director Neil Stechschulte at (608) 825-0894 to ask to be placed on the list. The City plans to issue an update via e-mail, the City Website and this news blog after each weekly meeting. Information will also be shared with the Sun Prairie Star as well as the Sun Prairie Chamber of Commerce. Additional updates will be issued as they become known.
