KIDS-4 Gets Madison Civics Club Grant

With the $1,000 grant awarded by the Madison Civics Club plus matching funds, the Sun Prairie Media Center will add another video-production workstation, so that students can have a more in-depth learning experience. Frontier Communications Senior VP & General Manager Becky Berkey Potts Visits Sun Prairie (City of Sun Prairie Office of Economic Development)

She attended the Social Media Breakfast meeting with Southern Wisconsin Regional Manager Terry Kucera on Wednesday, as Frontier sponsored breakfast that day. Becky and Terry also and met with City Economic Development Director Neil Stechschulte and Sun Prairie Chamber of Commerce board member Pete Schmeling at Buck & Honey's on Thursday evening. The discussion over dinner included how Frontier is looking forward to being a significant partner in the City's Economic Development efforts, what services Frontier may be deploying in Sun Prairie in the coming years, and the upcoming announcement on June 28th regarding the expanding role of the Sun Prairie offices in Frontier's Wisconsin market.

Sun Prairie Represented in Feedback Session on WEDC Strategic Plan (City of Sun Prairie Office of Economic Development)

Secretary Jadin and Deputy Secretary Mike Klonsinski presented a brief overview of the draft strategic plan. The document included a mission statement, a summary of core values, key performance indicators, four key strategies, and a preliminary organizational chart for the WEDC and its governing board.
Information from all 6 meetings will be collected and used to make final amendments to the draft strategic plan. Additional details on the final strategic plan will be announced and shared at four meetings around the State being hosted by the Wisconsin Economic Development Association (WEDA) on the following dates and locations:
April 19, 2011 - Eau Claire @ Chippewa Valley Technical College - Gateway Campus, Rm 130
April 21, 2011 - Appleton @ Fox Valley Technical College- Bordini Center, Room 103
May 3, 2011 - Wausau @ Northcentral Technical College - Center for Health Sciences, Room 2016
May 4, 2011 - Waukesha @ Country Springs Hotel - Woodfield Room
Each meeting will include an overview of the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation by Secretary Paul Jadin and Deputy Secretary Mike Klonsinski, an overview of the Application Process for Financial Requests, a discussion on WEDA Government Relations and Economic Development in the 2011 – 2013 Budget, and Changing the Economic Development Service Delivery Model in Wisconsin.

The designation of Certified Insurance Service Representative (CISR) has been conferred upon Nicole Waerzeggers, CISR (Photo Left), and LuAnne Wood, CISR (Photo Right), of Harms Insurance Group in Sun Prairie, after their successful completion of five, one-day courses covering all areas of insurance risks and exposures, followed by extensive examinations.
The CISR Program, available to insurance professionals in all 50 states and Puerto Rico, is distinguished from other programs of its kind by an annual continuing education requirement, which ensures that designees stay current on the important policy changes and trends within the industry.
Nicole and Lu Anne are to be commended on their dedication to professionalism as evidenced by the completion of the CISR designation and their commitment to continuing education.
The CISR designation is awarded by the Society of CISR, a not-for-profit organization and member of The National Alliance for Insurance Education & Research, the nation’s premier provider of insurance and risk management education.
This year, the Society of CISR celebrates its 21st anniversary with over 77,500 participants in the Program and more than 26,000 individuals holding the CISR designation.
