SSM Health Care of Wisconsin announced today it has finalized the purchase of property at the corner of Reiner Road and US 151 to build its emergency medical facility. The 17 acres of land anticipates expanded health care services that could include a hospital.
At the same time, SSM Health Care also announced today that an architect has been chosen to design and construct its emergency medical facility in Sun Prairie, and to develop a master plan for a health care campus in the city. The architectural firm selected to design the site and ER is Flad Architects. The initial facility, a satellite emergency center of St. Mary’s Hospital, will open in March 2009.
“We have purchased property which will meet the current and future health care needs of Sun Prairie area residents,” said Mary Starmann-Harrison, Regional President & CEO of SSM Health Care of Wisconsin, the parent company of St. Mary’s Hospital. “As the city expands we intend to be there to serve its health care needs.”“
We have been working with St. Mary’s Hospital to bring Emergency Services to Sun Prairie,” said Patrick Cannon, Sun Prairie City Administrator. “And, as the City of Sun Prairie grows, additional local health care services are being addressed.”
